Dr Rebecca Segrave
Dr Rebecca Segrave BA (Sci Hons) DPsych (Clin Neuro)
Rebecca Segrave is a Research Fellow / Clinical Neuropsychologist in MAPrc's Brain Stimulation and Neurosciences team. Her research involves the combined application of neuroscience (such as EEG and fMRI), brain stimulation (such as DBS and tDCS) and neuropsychological techniques to better understand the neurobiology of major depression and develop improved treatment options for this condition.
Rebecca completed the Monash University Doctor of Psychology (Clinical Neuropsychology) program in 2011. Her doctoral research examined the electrophysiological correlates of major depression and how these relate to alterations in cognitive and emotional processing in this disorder. After a period of clinical work in the public health system she was awarded an NHMRC ECR Health Professional Fellowship. She is currently working on a number of research projects which include an investigation of the neuropsychological and neurobiological correlates of DBS in refractory major depression, the application and augmentation of cognitive control training depression and an fMRI study exploring patterns of brain activity associated with therapeutic response to transcranial magnetic stimulation.
