Dr Fitzgibbon awarded 2014 Victorian Young Tall Poppy Award

Congratulations to Dr Bernadette Fitzgibbon who has been awarded the 2014 Victorian Young Tall Poppy Award. The awards are run by the Australian Institute of Policy and Science (AIPS) to celebrate scientists who combine world-class research with a passionate commitment to communicating science.
Dr Fitzgibbon's research explores the way people experience pain to help better understand and treat pain disorders. She is currently investigating if brain stimulation can relieve chronic pain in patients suffering from a musculoskeletal condition called fibromyalgia.
As part of the Young Tall Poppy campaign, Dr Fitzgibbon will spend a year sharing her knowledge with school students, teachers and the broader community through workshops, seminars and public lectures.
