Women's Mental Health Clinic
PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO HIGH DEMAND, OUR WOMEN’S MENTAL HEALTH CLINIC IS CURRENTLY NOT ABLE TO TAKE REFERRALS. WE APOLOGISE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

The Women’s Mental Health Clinic at MAPrc provides a tertiary medical, psychiatric, and endocrine consultation service with novel treatment approaches for women experiencing a range of mental illnesses, including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar affective disorder, borderline personality disorder, menopause and menstrual-related depression and anxiety.

The clinic provides bulk-billed single session 'second opinion' consultations, combining physical health examinations with mental health assessments, in addition to the provision of information and education for patients' treating clinicians, such as their GPs. Importantly, this process includes an assessment letter with new management suggestions sent to both the referring doctors and patients themselves, to further emphasise and empower our patients' central roles in their own management — affirming a principle of empowerment that is foundational to our clinics' model of care.

The Women’s Mental Health Clinic is one of a kind and takes great pride in providing improved outcomes and treatment for women with mental illness.

Unfortunately, due to a very long waiting list our clinic is not currently able to accept referrals, but please see the following alternative options:
